Should You Upgrade or Freeze?
Upgrade
Choose this if you want to be considered for a higher preference in your list. It’s recommended for most candidates aiming for a better course or college.
Freeze
Choose this to finalize and accept your currently allotted seat. You will not be considered for any further rounds or upgrades.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you are satisfied with your allotment in the second round, you should choose the ‘Freeze’ option on the CSAS portal. This will confirm your seat, and you will not be considered for any further upgrades in subsequent rounds. Make sure to pay the admission fee before the deadline to finalize your spot.
The deadlines are very strict. If you fail to accept your allocated seat by 4:59 PM on July 30, you will forfeit your claim to that seat. You may also be ineligible for further admission rounds. It is crucial to complete all actions, including fee payment, within the specified time.
Yes, most likely. After the second round of admissions is complete, DU will assess the number of vacant seats and release details for a third round. Students who selected the ‘Upgrade’ option and new eligible candidates can participate in subsequent rounds.
It’s generally advised to choose ‘Upgrade’ even if the drop is minimal. Opting for an upgrade keeps your options open for better preferences without any risk to your current seat. If you don’t get a higher preference, you will retain your currently allocated seat. The only reason to ‘Freeze’ is if you are 100% certain about your current allocation.
